CAMPOBASSO, ITALY – Responsible Research Hospital (formerly Gemelli Molise) has launched Online Adaptive Radiotherapy (oART) in their radiotherapy department —powered not by new hardware, but by Manteia MOZI TPS, an AI-driven treatment planning platform.
The move, covered by Italpress and Adnkronos, marks the hospital's official entry into the Radiotherapy 4.0 era.

Software, Not Hardware, Drives the Upgrade
Traditional ART requires specialized, costly equipment. Mozi breaks this model with a pure software approach, using AI auto-planning and Monte Carlo engines to enable adaptive radiotherapy on existing linear accelerators.

"Mozi delivers session-by-session adaptation through pure AI power," said Prof. Savino Cilla, Head of Medical Physics. "We capture anatomical changes and recalculate optimal plans within minutes—making 'see-and-treat' precision a daily reality."
20-Minute Workflow: Treating the Patient of Today
The shift is fundamental: from static protocols to dynamic adaptation.
"With Mozi, we no longer treat the 'average patient' based on weeks-old scans," said Dr. Francesco Deodato, Head of Radiation Oncology. "We treat the patient based on their anatomy today."
Clinical data presented at the 2025 Italian Physics Society Annual Meeting shows complex ART cases completed in about 20 minutes, requiring only one physician and one physicist.
"Mozi makes the complex adaptive process clear and efficient," added Dr. Giovanni Guglielmucci, Medical Director.
Clinical Impact: Precision Where It Matters
For the clinical team, the value is ultimately about patients.
"Mozi represents the concrete frontier of AI in radiotherapy," said Stefano Petracca, hospital Chairman. "It delivers higher precision and safety—that's our commitment to patients."
"The ability to respond to anatomical changes in real-time once existed only in our imagination," Cilla emphasized. "Now it's our daily clinical reality."
From Chinese Innovation to European Clinical Reality
Responsible Research Hospital's success proves one thing: the future of oncology is already here. Online adaptive treatment, once dependent on hardware replacement, is now achievable through software—MOZI TPS uses daily images to rapidly replan, and the linac delivers.
